Highly recommended Online site can sweep and vacuum your floors without having to be involved. It will also leave clean. Its surprisingly affordable price and features that are high-end (such as dirt detection) are pluses.
Make sure to check your robot's brushes regularly for tangled debris and hair. Clean them as needed. Certain models also automatically empty the onboard dust bin and place it in a larger bin at the bottom. This helps reduce the amount of fine dust released into the air.
1. Roomba Q5 Pro
The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've test. They have top-of-the-line motors that can produce up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. And, like other premium iRobot models (including the top pick), they use smart mapping technology to create detailed floor plans that avoid household obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. The robots also have Carpet Boost, a feature that increases its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.
robot vacuum cleaners best and Q7 Max Series get very excellent scores in our bare floor tests, and they're particularly adept at cleaning pet hair. However, they do have several flaws that prevent them from being our top choice. For instance, the Q5's navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacle avoidance which means it's susceptible to become entangled in socks and shoes and couldn't navigate tight spaces very efficiently in our tests. It also doesn't come with an image sensor that lets it see the corners of a room.
It's still a good deal, especially if your home or office has a lot of bare floors and you want to save some money. Plus, it's very quiet and you can use it while you're at work or going to school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming feature that's offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping, relying on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick on very well and can't take on dried-on debris. The Q5 does have a self-emptying dock, though. And, if you have to change the mopping pad to dry ones in just a few just a few seconds.
2. IRobot Roomba X30
The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming capabilities into an elegant, compact package. Its agile navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it simple to clean and efficient at taking on larger particles, such as pet hair. It also has an impressive suction system and self-emptying bin. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, but it's not as good as other hoovers in terms of deep cleaning.
This highly efficient combination vacuum and mop uses advanced sensor technology to avoid obstacles and pet waste, and it learns the layout of your home over time to ensure more efficient cleaning. You can change the schedule of cleaning and even customize zones through the well-designed app. Its battery life is average compared to other models.
If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted space, you can tell it to remove and extend its mop. This helps prevent cross contamination. The flex arm can be used to reach beneath low-lying furnishings and along baseboards. However, it doesn't have the same level of washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
During testing, X30 Ultra was the quickest robot vacuum/mop that could clean an entire home, with 66 per cent of its battery remaining. It did a decent cleaning job on various floors and rooms with different kinds of flooring, including some area carpets. Its obstacle detection was top notch and it was nimbly avoiding fake dog socks, turds, shoes, and bundles of cables.

It's a bit more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but offers superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is something we haven't seen on other robotic vacuum/mop combos.
3. Roomba X40 from iRobot
With an elegant circular design that looks more like a regular Roomba rather than the boxy units This mop and robot vacuum is one of the most attractive looking models in our reviews. The latest model from iRobot is also the most intelligent. It comes with advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads in a self-cleaning manner).
It's also the sole robot vacuum or mop that scored a perfect 10 out of 10 in our testing. This is thanks to a mix of high-tech sensors including a structured lighting system, a camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that can completely self-refill and empty its base station, and it boasts industry-leading 12,000Pa suction and self-cleaning mop pads.
The X40, like other iRobot products, is simple to use. It comes with a simple mobile application interface, and it integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that the X40 still a noisy unit. This could be a concern in the mornings prior to work or in the evening when you are trying to fall asleep.
It's also a bit expensive however, not as much as the Ecovacs S8 MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally capable and better looking. If you're willing to put up some more volume and some additional cost it's a powerful two-in-one that will satisfy most people.
4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop with a lot of advanced features that let you get rid of your chores. Similar to Ecovacs range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that takes the care of mopping and vacuuming. It comes with a multifunction dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's dust bin, fills its water tank and cleans and dry its mop pads.
The smart robot makes use of the combination of LIDAR and structured light to create the floor plan and detect obstacles, navigating more intelligently than its more expensive rivals. It also has a front mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards, though this wasn't 100% reliable in our tests and was sometimes confused with obstructions or power cords.
Its vacuum cleaner has the capacity to suction up to 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to complete the task. It also comes with "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the intensity at which the vac works and alters the frequency of cleaning for different areas of your home depending on how dirty they are.
If you own a larger home, it is worth selecting a model with a spot or zone cleaning mode. This allows you to inform the robot of which area of your home must be cleaned with the help of an app or voice control. A stairway mode is useful if you have a lot furniture. For families that are busy, a recharge function and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum to pick up where it left off can be extremely useful.
iRobot RX3
The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you might think from its price. It is a great job vacuuming, picking up 55% of the debris we found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using a single pad that uses a reciprocating motion, which does a better job cleaning than the other robot mop cleaners we've tested. It's also self-sufficient with a fully-featured app, and a self-emptying base that can be washed.
The iRobot app is designed to guide you through the mapping process that collects data on your floorplan, as well as any "no go" areas that you have marked on the map. You can use it to make cleaning schedules, arrange the perfect spot for cleaning or prioritise your dirtiest rooms for better performance. The app also provides access to many options, including seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.
Its shape is more rectangular than other robot vacuums, which means it is able to reach corners and underneath furniture more easily. It also has a strong suction of 8,000 Pascal suction and combs that are intelligent for hair of pets. You can also set up a spot cleaning that intensely cleans a localized area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and cheaper alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras resemble cute eyes. It is great at vacuuming, but it's more likely to be caught in low thresholds. It is also noisier than other top robot vacuums that we have test. It also has a less intuitive app and a small base station that can't be used as an emptying bin.
